Living Spaces Specialist - Podcaster - Speaker

In the process of home design or remodel, you may have architects concentrating on the wow factor, designers concentrating on the beauty, job sups making sure the process goes smoothly and so on. I suggest you add the important step of having a non-partial expert on where stuff goes - ie: me- go through your plan before it is finalized. It is amazing how many people say, “wow, I wish I would have had you before the project started!” Its like anything - a little upfront effort, will gain you a better outcome.

My focus is on how you are going to use your space. I ask a ton of questions. How do you store things, how much room do you need for x or y. It is amazing how many people go into huge projects without these important conversations to make sure how they want to live fits in the home they want to live in!

For example, a very wise person asked me to consult on her outdoor deck. When talking to the deck builders, no one thought to ask what kind of furniture she wanted or how she wanted to use the deck. Sightlines from inside the home was not taken into account. Additionally, with small children, we talked extensively about where the stairs should go and how by creating landings on the way down, she would break up the possibility of her child tumbling down a very long stairway. We also laid out the space so that the gate at the top of the stairs did not impede the use of the deck.

My superpower is to talk through a plan as if we're walking through your space in 3D. I recognize hurdles to overcome before the first nail is hammered and hopefully before the contract is signed. Let's talk.
