I Write My essay series From Where I Sit explores belonging, identity, aging, and what it means to finally show up as exactly who you are — from the bleachers, from the restaurant corner table, from sixty years of figuring it out. → Read the essays
I Speak I bring stories to stages — about the rooms that didn't fit, the permission we stopped waiting for, and the chapters that turned out to be the most interesting ones of all. Available for events, panels, and organizations serving women in their third chapter. → Inquire about speaking
I Connect After forty years at the intersection of spaces and people, I know that how we live reflects how we see ourselves. I work selectively with clients ready to design a space — and a life — that finally fits. → Let's talk
I grew up in a 900 square foot house in Roseville, Minnesota, wearing men's Levi's because women's pants weren't long enough. I was adopted, tall, curly-haired, and an extreme extrovert in a family of quiet people.
I learned early that when things don't fit, you have two choices — squeeze yourself smaller, or figure out a better design.
I chose design. And I've been choosing it ever since.
